Who We Are
Our History
The roots of badminton in Myanmar trace back to 1910, originally flourishing as a recreational pursuit that brought communities together through the spirit of sport. Following the nation’s independence, the All-Burma Badminton Association was formally established on January 16, 1948, to provide a structured home for the game. By 1952, the federation achieved international recognition through its affiliation with the Badminton World Federation (BWF) and Badminton Asia. Throughout the mid-20th century, Myanmar emerged as a regional powerhouse, with legendary pioneers like Philip Gaudoin and Myint Myint Khin securing historic medals at the SEAP Games. Today, as the Myanmar Badminton Federation (MBF), we carry this proud heritage forward, transforming decades of tradition into a professional pathway for the champions of tomorrow.
